MFT Camp Create Day 2

Hello everyone!
I'm so excited to be at camp again this year!
So many things to see and do and my camp is even air conditioned!
Thankfully, because otherwise I'm sure I would have melted by now!

Today is a technique challenge.
You can learn more about the challenge and find an awesome video by visiting the MFT blog.

For today's card I wanted to make a card for my dear stamping friend Karen.
Last week Karen was riding her bike and was hit by a truck.
She has a broken arm and 3 broken vertebrae, but remains so very strong and still has a beautiful smile.  So, Karen, if you see today's post this card is on it's way to you!
And of course I wish you a full and speedy recovery!
Karen is still crafting but doesn't post to her blog as much as she used to, but I know she would be thrilled if you stop by her blog and say hello and wish her well.

I didn't have a wood grain background stamp but I wanted to keep the feel of the wood grain, so I used an embossing folder.  Then embossed over the top of the design by swiping my versamark over the raised image.  I love that is still has the white washed look.

I also loved the idea of putting the pearless water color sheets in a little book so I completed that task today as well.  I'm getting so much done at camp this year!
Woohoo!

I've earned this lovely badge today!
Yay Me!

See you all tomorrow!

Enablers List

MFT cardstock
MFT Succulents Stamps
Darice embossing folder

Papertrey Ink Make it Monday #283

Hello everyone,
Just popping in to share with you a few projects I made for this weeks
Papertrey Ink MIM challenge.  This weeks challenge is to use a water color wash background.
I made several water color backgrounds and let them dry over night.
For these projects I decided to die cut my water colored paper for the backgrounds.
Then I used both the negative and positive of the die cut to make my cards.

Eek! I just love how this card turned out! So pretty. And of course the beautiful cluster of flowers matched the background colors almost perfectly.  Love everything about this one.
Don't you just love when that happens!?

For this card, it's really quite clean and simple.
I just used a little spray adhesive in the center of the die cut then stuck the negatives to cardstock and pulled off the positive that I used on the card above.

To play along with this weeks challenge visit the PTI blog here.

All products used are Papertey Ink with the exception of the water colors.
You can find the products in the PTI store here.

Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy NSD!

PTI April 2017 Blog Hop

Hello,
What a beautiful spring here in PA.
It was so nice over the weekend we were able to get all our flower gardens weeded and mulched,
the fresh mulch and new plants are looking so pretty.  Spring time greens are some of my favorite colors! Along with all the gorgeous spring blooms of course!

Today's PTI challenge is an inspiration piece.
You can find the inspiration details and the challenge on the PTI Blog.

April Inspiration

This just looks like vintage fabric I wish I could find for my patio furniture pillows.

This is the card I made using the colors similar to those in the photo.

I am making a conscious effort to use more patterned paper in the design of my cards.
I'm pretty sure I have a never ending supply at this point.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you enjoy the hop,
and good luck if you play along!

Happy Spring!

Welcoming Spring!

Hello everyone!
I'm so excited today, no I didn't get new stamps in the mail! I was able to walk outside without a coat, or sweatshirt or any winter clothes! It seems spring has finally arrived, and it's not raining.
I also took some time to prune some flowering bushes that I didn't do in the fall.
Now, I need to do some research and see when I have to start filling the humming bird feeders.
I'm not sure when they start to migrate.

Anyway, on to today's card.
I made this card for the SplitCoast Stampers Mystery Image Swappers group.
This month Patti sent us this cute image called Summer Afternoon from SU!

I added some PTI patterned paper and cardstock and finished with a PTI sentiment.

Papertrey Ink Release Day 3 challenge.

Today is a snow day here in my part of PA!
And we have a lot of snow! At least 2 feet and it's still snowing.
So we have been having a family game day.
Although, I took a break from all the fun to stamp some of my favorite flowers.
One of the first multi layer stamps sets that I purchased was PTI The Sweet Life.
It's gorgeous, and I still love it and use it often.

TCP Tuesday #333 Water

Hi all,
I'm back again today with another card I made during the 30 day coloring challenge.
Today's card is for The Cat's Pajamas Stamps

I sure could use some surfing weather!
Instead we have about 8 inches of snow and blustering winds!
With more yet to come!

I colored this cute Surfer Buns with copic markers.
For the die cut circle I used the TClP cloud die as a mask.

I

I cut the TCP wave die twice and just layered it, using foam tape for the top layer.

The wavy stitched edge is a Simon Says stamp die, and the patterned paper is PTI.

Papertrey Ink March Release Day 2 Challenge

Today I wanted to share with you my project for the Papetrey Ink March Release Day 2 Challenge.  Today's challenge is to create a new project that incorporates multiples of a single shape, stamp or die cut.

I pulled out a well loved Papertrey Ink Butterfly die as my main image.

I die cut the butterflies from paper from the Papertrey Ink Pink Patterns Collection, then added the center elements that came with a past SAF kit 1940's.

The base and green gingham paper is cut from the PTI Noted A2 scalloped die collection.

The sentiment is form Graceful Greetings 2 stamp set.

I finished by adding sequins with a dot of glossy accents on top.

All products Papertrey Ink as mentioned above.

MAKE IT MONDAY #277: NAIL POLISH MARBLING

Hi all!

A little mixed media project for you here today.
I know, I am not a get messy kinda gal unless it comes to coloring Easter eggs
and baking Christmas cookies! Then it's ok, to an extent ;)
I don't like messes.  I have to say I even like my house to be clean and in order to scrap.
That being said my studio is the messiest room in our home.

So today I took on the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge, Nail Polish Marbling.
Years ago I remember this being a pinterest thing for nails.
We even tried it at a scrap booking get together.
It was messy, and only a few nails actually turned out kinda nice.
So, let's see how this will go.

You can watch the video here and join the challenge by clicking here.

I used a disposable take out food container, so the mess would be easy to clean up.
And tooth picks to swirl the polish in the water.
I dipped several sheets of white and kraft in hopes of getting one that was usable.

These are the papers I dipped in various colored polishes.

And this is the card I made.
I chose to use the one on kraft cardstock.

I added a strip of paper to coordinate with the nail polish to add the sentiment.

And there you have my mixed media card using nail polish marbling.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Papertrey Ink 10th Anniversary Celebration Day 2

Oh my, if you want to see lots of pretty photos be sure to check out the post today on the PTI blog.  Today is the first day of the guest blogger Rebecca Luminarias. Rebecca has lots of inspiration for handmade packaging that is just beautiful! It's also the second day of the Papertrey Ink 10th anniversary Celebration. Today's challenge is all about gift wrapping, and the challenge was to make a tag or gift wrapping.  I chose to make a gift card holder that could be tucked inside of a card.

I started with a mini kraft envelope. The embellished with a doily, patterned paper and twine.

I finished the design with a stamped image from the garden gate kit.

So pretty!

I really should make these more for inside of cards, they are so quick and easy and look so much prettier then most of the envelopes that come with gift cards.

I'm also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Enablers List

Papertrey Ink Garden Gate Kit
PTI patterned paper
PTI Rustic Twine
other doily and kraft envelope
