Today's pleasures

Hello all!  Happy Sunday!

I started my day by taking the ALS ice bucket challenge with my husband.
You can see our video here.

Then Ashlyn and here friend Amber did their challenges.
You can see it here....

I wanted to take just a moment and share the warning signs of having a stroke because they can happen to anyone! And it's so important to get help as quickly as possible.  Minimizing the time before help can save valuable time in making a difference in how severely one is affect.

Now on to my art shares for today.  I made these two cards for this weeks

These stamps are SU!, the anchor is
Studio Calico, jute is from my stash and cardstock is GKD.

This vellum with shells I picked up at my local stamp store.
If your ever in Middleburg PA you need to stop by and visit Nora in her little store.
She is the sweetest lady.  I used vellum adhesive but you can still see it more then I like.
The stickers are Simple Stories and the cardstock is GKD.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have an awesome day!

Antique Embossing

OK, so I strayed a bit and didn't use a frame for this challenge but this set just needed some love.

I die cut the image from Harvest Berries then stamped with Versa Mark and embossed with gold embossing powder.  The stamp just reminds me of vintage material patterns.  Love it!

Velvet Stamping

Ok, so I am just not grasping some of these techniques!

But here is my card using the Velvet Stamping Technique.
All products are PTI with the exception of the Zing White embossing powder.

It's a beautiful day....

To do some quilting.  Today I made this lovely quilted card for the StampTV Hello Fall Challenge.  The challenge is to use fall colors and a fall image on your project.  For the patterned paper I used GKD Ang and Me.  I just love the pop of teal with the fall colors.  The stamped image is from GKD Stippled Nature and the sentiment is GKD Beyond Baskets.  The paper is GKD Luxury Cardstock.

I just love the pop of blue with the warm fall colors!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have an awesome week!

One more for today.

This is another try at a Masculine card for the Mod Squad challenge blog.  I just don't have much in the line of masculine so here is what I came up with.  Very CAS.

Hey blog friends!

Hope your enjoying the last weeks of summer.  I gotta say it's crazy cool here for this time of year.  But I love the fall so I'm not complaining.

Today I made a card for the Mod Squad challenge blog.  The challenge is to make a Masculine Birthday card.

I made this CAS card using GKD paper and stamps.  I stamped the frame from GKD Poster Board with GKD powder blue ink (what doesn't say masculine like powder blue, even for big boys;) and the sentiment with Momento Tuxedo black.  I then fussy cut the frame.  For the card front I stamped the circles and lines from Pretty Patterns.  Then popped the sentiment and added a few blue pearls for the finish.

And there you have it a masculine birthday card.  Something I rarely make, so it was a definite challenge for me!

Good morning sunshine!

Happy Wednesday!

We will see if my enthusiasm for this beautiful morning lasts all day!  Why would I say that you ask? Because I have been up several times last night and up for good at 5:27am.  I DO NOT see those hours of the day!

Note to self......
*Just because Ed is away isn't a good excuse to eat junk food late at night, even if it is delivered and is made with spinach and chicken.  It's still a Calzone!

But hey, it's a good time to blog as that doesn't happen to often these days....so here goes.  This week has been an awesome week to be a member of Split Coast Stampers Fan Club.  Let me just tell you about the awesome event that is going all right now.  The Fan Club is a place where each month 12 of the most awesome card makers are selected to join what is affectionately is know as the Dirty Girls.  These girls are given a them and post all their amazing projects for in a gallery where only SCS Fan Club Members can see it.  It's truly an honor to be part of this elite group of crafters.  Something I am aspiring to be someday, maybe.  This week they hold an awesome event for just Fan Club Members.  The event is a week long challenge where each day between  August 2nd and 8th 5 and 8 challenges are posted and you have until the 11th to get them all completed and uploaded. Why participate in this torturous event you might ask.   Why because it's a great excuse to get dirty and stamp lots of awesome cards all week long as well as win some pretty nice prizes from SCS Member Companies.
You can join the Fan Club Here, or if you haven't already become a member you can join SCS Here.

Now on to some of the projects I have created this week. This is my second card using the sponging technique.  This is actually my favorite technique right now.  I love playing with my new sponged.  Who knew that this could actually be so easy.

And then there are the late night cards where you are to tired to think any more and thankful for a challenge that lets clean and simple prevail.

And cards using techniques that are not your normal style.  But are fun anyway.

And cards that are just to funny....

And cards that let your sassiness show....and get censored!

And finally even with the time crunch and goals to finish all 57 challenges you might even end up with a few that are keepers....

I'll stop there this morning but you get the idea of the awesome time I'm having skype-ing with friends and getting dirty with the dirty girls at SCS.  My challenge to you is to come and join, take a look around and even one challenge completed makes you eligible for some pretty fun prizes!

Have a great day! Hugs, Joyce
