Altenew June Inspiration Challeng

Hello everyone, Today I am playing along with the June Altenew Inspiration challenge to make a card for my CCC swap partner.  This is the inspiration image.  I love the cluster of flowers and the soft yellow.

I made my card using water color paper.  I stamped a simple cluster of the flowers and leaves from the stamp set Beautiful Day.  Then I stamped an individual outline of the largest flower and colored it with Peerless water colors.  This is my first time using the Peerless water colors.

And here is a close up of my painting. I think the hardest challenge for me is to let my water colors dry between switches colors.  I tend to just want to keep going until I'm finished.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great weekend!

MAKE IT MONDAY #253: REVERSE STENCILING

Hello everyone, this is my second attempt at reverse stenciling.  My first card I finished and put in the mail and forgot to take a photo.  This was a challenge for me, I have very few stencils and the ones I do have aren't really background type stencils. So I had to improvise and use the monogram stencils from the Don't Forget to Write kit.

I actually used pale blush and the new parakeet green.

I did use watercolor paper and love how the texture looks.

Thanks PTI for another fun challenge.

MFT Camp Create 2016 Wonderful Watercolor

Hello everyone, today I'm posting my Wonderful Watercolor project for camp create. My computer decided it needed a little vacation from blogging and wouldn't let me post earlier.

I've been wanting to try water coloring.  I had the paints but never bought paper, finally I have all the supplies so here is my very first attempt at water coloring.  Thankfully there was an awesome tutorial to follow along.  Click here to learn more about MFT Camp Create and watch the video.

I didn't have the outline set so I used the Pretty Poppies and just used third generation stamping for my outline image.

And here is a close up.  I added a little orange to add the highlights to my poppies.

I love how it turned out for a first try.

So here is the badge I earned for today's Camp Create Project.

Thank you MFT and the awesome camp directors!
I'm having an awesome time at camp!

MFT Camp Create 2016

Hi everyone, this week I'm at summer camp with MFT (yes they are some of my favorite things!) Click on the image to learn more about coming along to camp.

Today's camp project is to use glitter.  Who doesn't love glitter!

I made this card for today's project.
I started with kraft ink to stamp the background using MFT Succulent stamps.
Then I die cut the same catus using a sticky foam sheet.
These work great with glitter.

I finished by coloring the pot with copic markers and adding a sentiment form the same set.

Here is a close up for you.

So today I earned my Glitzy Glitter Badge! Woohoo!

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday 252

Hello everyone,
I am loving all the fresh spring veggies that are ready in the garden.  What I was not ready for was the huge black snake I found in my strawberry bed yesterday! If you have a garden I hope yours stays critter free!  Of course my husband is away so the snake is tormenting me.  I have seen it 3 times already just walking out to our driveway.  I will not be in the gardens until he gets home to do snake removal!

So yesterday I spent the day with a guest.  Tiana joined me for the day.  We had an eventful day.  First we went on a hike with the puppy, tended the flower beds, picked fresh veggies for our lunch then we played along with this weeks Make It Monday.

This is the card she made after watching the video.  I had to explain that I didn't have the exact die so she would have to chose a different word.

She did fabulous for her first card.

And then here is my card.

And a close up to show my shading.

Thanks so much for another fun Make It Monday PTI.

Hope to see you all again soon!
