Studio Calico Color Theory project

I'm taking a class at Studio Calico this month called Color Theory with Lisa Truesdell.
Each week we are given a lesson and video showcasing that lesson and a technique.
Our first assignment, before the class even started was to choose a inspiration piece.
I immediately went to pinterest and found this photo.

We then had to use the photo and pull together products that represent the colors in the photo.
For the second assignment we had to use the product to create a project.

The first technique showcased was the use of water colors.  This is my first page using water colors.
I like the water color affect, with the exception that its hard to get bold colors in water colors.
It's also my first page using the stamp from the Studio Calico stitched class.

I should have had at least 4 post with the class so far, but unfortunately I have been dealing with a kidney stone that seems to visit way to often.  I'll be so glad to have it gone after tomorrows surgery!

If I don't feel up to posting again this week, I'll surely be back after next weekends trip to NYC to the Momma Elephant and KP class.  So looking forward to some time with some of my scrappy friends:)

Have an awesome week!

  6. So happy you are about to see the end of this kidney stone. I know you've been miserable.

On to happier things - LOVE this page. I have a color inspiration board on Pinterest I want to utilize more if work slows down.

Tip working with water colors - the intensity will vary with the water color medium you use. My fav is Gelatos for intense color.
    Creative Blessings!
