Happy Anniversary Baby!

It's been such an exciting week in our house.  We spent most of the week sending our daughter off to school.  This is her first year of college, her first time being away from home, and her very first time without her car since she turned 16. Monday we moved her in to her first dorm room, that is her in the back with her Roxy Bedding and all her stuff on her desk.  She is still trying to get things decorated.  It's about the size of her closet at home.  LOL

Then yesterday we went to Convocation.  It was a beautiful day and very nice service.  The bag pipers were the perfect touch to make it a very special event.  All the freshmen were in matching T-shirts and they pulled the entire class together in just 15 minutes, and had them in groups and lined up.  Then a reception after with punch and cookies.

Today we spent the day outside enjoying one of the last nice weekends of summer.  It was a cooler day so we walked the rails to trails in Bloomsburg, then took a picnic to the lake, then tonight we window shopped on main street and had dinner at a little Italian cafe.  On our way home we took the scenic route.
Tomorrow we celebrate 18 years of marriage.  I'm celebrating by learning how to use my new camera:)
If you see my wonderful husband pat him on the back for putting up with me all these years.
Love you babe:)
I did manage a little scrappy fun today by making an anniversary card with the new Webster's Vogue line.
It's so unique I just love it!

PTI Blog Hop

In honor of school going back into session everywhere, we thought it would be fun to issue a Brown Bag Challenge. We want to see what you can do to dress up, alter, change and ordinary brown lunch bag into a paper crafting work of art. You could modify it to become a gift bag with handles, create a card base by folding it in half (complete with a slide out tag), add a window to it or whatever else you can dream up. After the hop is through, we should have plenty of inspiration to help us create amazing projects with inexpensive brown bags! We look forward to seeing your creations.

And here is my card.

Thanks for hopping by!

Crop Day!!!

Woot! Woot!

We decided back at the beginning of summer that Friday's would be our designated crop day.  Andrea is on her way, but Ellen can't make it today. (bumemr Ellen!)  Anyway, thought I would share with you what I am working on this week.

First, I started by making some pin cushions.  A friend sent me one, but then it was to darn cute to part with so I set out to make another so I can keep this cute little cupcake for myself!  Thanks Karen!  It's already found a home right next to my sewing machine!

Next, I started dessert.  After all it would be a scrappy Friday without some homemade goodness to fill the air.  And boy does it make the house smell yummy!  Peach blueberry cobbler is bubbling in the oven as I type....

And lastly I'm working on a tutorial on making your own canvas banner.  You'll have to wait until the end of the month for that to be posted at Scrap Gal.

Hope you all have a fantabulous Friday!

Fresh Brewed Designes Blog Hop

It's the first Wednesday of the month, and you know what that means for Fresh Brewed Designs ... another blog hop and image release. And I'm excited to be desingning for the hop this month. The HOP starts with Rhonda, so be sure to go there first! If you are hopping and got here from Jenn's blog, then you are good to go!

This hop will not be your ordinary hop... it is full of secrets and smiles, wonder and amazement. Magical things happen when you get a group of ladies together. What kind of magic you ask? The only magic worth seeking, wanting, cherishing... the kind of magic you find in true friendship. Today we have a little bit of magical enchantment to share with you in these newest Fresh Brewed Designs images. Each tells a little story, a little mystery, a little fun, and adds just a little bit of fantasy to each creation you will see during this hop.

As children we remember those Fairy Tales about mermaids and magical worlds where fairies live. We would lay in the grass and wonder if the patch of wildflowers was full of life, if mermaids swam in the sea beneath us. It is always fun to imagine and dream.

Happy Sunday!!!

I've been pondering a single lo all day.  I spent several hours coloring a Pink Paislee acetate sheet, I've been blog hopping looking for inspiration, I've even asked my husband to help.  Why you ask.....because I can't find it in me to scrap about me.  Crazy huh!?  Good think I have until the end of the month to complete this challenge.  A challenge it is!

Today I have a cute little altered journal I made last week and haven't had the opportunity to post.  I used PK Glitz, along with some of my favorite Websters trim, and FTLOA stamps.  I embossed the lettering and colored a few of the letters with copics, just to make them pop.  Isn't it cute!

Papertrey Princess Challenge

Hello everyone!

Today is my turn to host the Papertrey Princess Challenge.  Even though this is a Papertrey Challenge we invite you to join along and get inky with us.

Challenge: My challenge is for you to lift a project from the Papertrey gallery and make it your own.  Please be sure to post a link or photo of the project you chose and to give credit to the artist.

The project I chose is this adorable notebook from Lisa Johnson.  I chose this project because I've had this stamp set for a while and had yet to get it inky.

I made a similar design into a Birthday card.

Leave a comment and link your project for a chance at a RAK from me:)

Happy Scrapping!

Have you seen the new releases yet?  I'm in love with these little stick pins.  Aren't they cute!

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Me Monday ~Cool Treat

Peach Melba is one of my favorite cool summer treats.  It combines fresh fruits of the season, preserved raspberries and icecream! Yum!

Raspberry Preserve:

4 cups cleaned raspberries
4 cups sugar
1 t. butter

Using a heavy pot cook raspberries and sugar over medium heat until slightly bubbling, then add butter.  Cook for one minute longer stirring constantly.  Remove from heat and place in sterilized jars and seal.

Peaches:
Wash and split in half 4 peaches.  Do not remove skin.
Sprinkle split side of peach with sugar and grill on medium until warm and soft.

Place cut side up in bowl, add a generous portion of vanilla icecream and top with a dollop of raspberry preserve.

I made this little gift tag to give some preserve to a friend, but it would make a lovely house warming gift. Just putthe preserve in a little basket with an icecream scoop, recipe and some fresh peaches.

Enjoy!
