Happy Holiday Weekend!

Hello everyone, If your enjoying holidays this weekend I hope they are fabulous.  For us we are working on getting our daughter an apartment.  We finally found one we like yesterday and have moved forward to secure it for her.  Just 5 more days and she will start her 17 hour journey back to PA.  I couldn't be happier.
Sunday we will have Easter dinner with my parents. But not having little ones it just isn't the same.  We buy sweets for the neighbor children, and of course have to have some ourselves.  But that's about it. I didn't die a single egg this year.

Anyway, today I'm sharing a card I made for CAS(E) this sketch #165 along with the CASology cue card.

I made this card thinking of a friend who is down with the flu for a week now.
I hope she is better until she gets it as it has to make it's way to Canada and can't mail it until after the holiday weekend.

I think I stuck pretty well to the sketch and keeping it pretty clean and simple.

And this cue card worked out perfectly!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Follow Your Dreams

Hello everyone, I took some down time today to play along with the TCP Tuesday #310 challenge using Freshly Made Sketch 228.  I needed some down time.  We have been apartment shopping to move our daughter from Arkansas to Pennsylvania.  We live in PA and are about 2 hours from where her new job will be.  Unfortunately the apartments we have been seeing are not nice at all.  As a protective Momma I am just not happy with her being in place I wouldn't feel safe.  So this has been occupying our time, our heads and our hearts.  But she will be closer and we will see her more often so I know it will all work out.

This weeks TCP Tuesday #310 is to use bunnies!  And in this case Buns.  I just love this adorable hot air balloon and I love making it different colors each time.  I started by using my copic air brush to make the background.  The stamped the stamp on multiple colors of paper and once on white cardstock to make my base image.  I colored the basket and buns with copics, then cut the patterned paper to fit the balloon.  I finished by adding die cut clouds and a sentiment.

Freshly made sketch 228 gave me a jumping off point for my final placement of image and sentiment.
And here is a close up.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Stuck with Me!

If your here your stuck with me for another one of my challenge cards.

I was saw drawn to this stamp set.  I have always loved succulents not sure why, but they tend to be one of the only things I can grow.  Succulents and Orchids seem to do well for me.
Anything else in my house just dies.

I'm combining the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge this week to make your own background and the MFT Color Challenge #41 Green.

I started by stamping all random images for the MFT Succulents set. I love that the set has this little heart.
Then I die cut it with the MFT rectangle stitched die.

I used water color pencils to color the cactus and pot, and blended with Gamasol.
The sentiment is stamped on an MFT washi die.

Thanks so much for visiting:)

Take a leap into the unknown with Simon Says Stamp

Ok, so Zig Clear Color Real Brush Pens have been in my drawer forever! So I thought this weeks Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge is to take a leap into the unknown. These are definitely unknown as I had to unwrap them.
So here is my very first time trying them.

They defiantly take some getting used to. They feel more like paint pens then water color.
I'll have to play with them some more and see what they can do.

CAS(E) this sketch! 162

I'm here today with a quick and easy card I made using the sketch from CAS(E) this sketch!

This is the beautiful sketch.
I love using sketched, it is such an easy way to get your creative juices flowing,
kinda like painting by numbers;)

I love the border but didn't have anything similar so I used a banner die cut for my focal base.
I then die cut and stamped my flower and leaves.
I I thought I would keep the colors very simple so the bright flower would stand out.

I stamped the "Sending" part of the sentiment and had to fill in part of the g with a black pen because I wasn't using it as intended.  But I think it worked.  I finished the sentiment and added twine to finish the card.

Papertrey Ink Make it Monday 241

Hello everyone,
Today I am playing along with the PTI Make it Monday challenge.
This weeks challenge is to make an ombre stenciled background.

I chose this color pallet as inspiration.
You can find more ccolor recipes on the PTI Blog by clicking here.

Color-6

I started by die cutting my chicken wire cover plate to make my stencil.
Then I used these colors to blend the ombre background.
I used the same colors to stamp the tulips.

I layered my card and finished it with some twine to add a touch of a natural element.

I'm loving the tulip stamp set.  I think I may have to buy some colorful tulips for my table this week.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Have a wonderful day!

CASology Week 186 Challenge And Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

I am combining a couple of challenges today.

First, the CASology challenge.

And Second, This weeks Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

Simon Wednesday Challenge Blog

This Weeks Simon Says Stamp challenge is Anything Goes!

For this challenge I thought I thought I would make a card for a neighbor who is going through a touch time, and has been dealing with the effects of Cancer for a few years.  I thought I would just drop her a note to let her know I am thinking of her.

I once again wanted to make a card that was easy to mail and the CASology challenge prompt gave me the perfect jumping off point.

I started by first using the Papertrey Ink stencil from the Color Pop kit.  Then added some extra dimension to the sponged flowers with the coordinating stamps.  I finished with a sentiment from MFT.

February Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

Hello Friends
I am playing along with this months PTI blog hop.

Blog-hop-logo
I love this months inspiriation photo. So many different elements and textures.

The-Challenge

Inspiration
I love the softness of the greens and the pop of pink.  I think the flower on the right just spoke to me and said In Bloom, an older but beautiful PTI Set I just love.

I started by using this beautiful PTI cover plate (ok, I have no idea what it's called but I'm pretty sure it is an exclusive from SAF). Then I masked off the inside rectangle and stamped my images.  I then colored them with copic markers.  Then finished with the sentiment across the center.

I thought about fixing some of the lighter lines in the top flower, but then I thought it just adds to the softness that the photo shows.

Very clean and simple card, that will mail easily.

Dedicated to Ellen.

Hello everyone,
Today I want to dedicate my post to a dear friend I recently lost.
Many of you may have know her.
Many of you may have seen her scrapbook, pages, cards and more without even knowing who made them. Ellen Sosnoski who blogged at the blog http://allnaturalcrafter.blogspot.com/ was one of my first in real life scrapbooking friends.  Once we got together and started scrapping it was like we knew each other forever.  She had an infectious personality that brought so much joy, laughter and just great times to whoever had the pleasure of knowing her.  She was beautiful inside and out.  She leaves behind very heavy but loving hearts of a group of scrapbooking, card making friends that will always remember her. I've welcomed all of these women into my heart and my home and they are much more then friends, they are the best family a person could ask for. Ones who laugh together, complain (or as Ellen would say bitch together) together, and when times are tough share tears together. She was a mother two adorable sons,  sister to one of the strongest and most caring women I know, who is also a dear friend Amber, daughter to a beautiful women, Barbara and friend us all. Tragically her life was lost to a house fire last weekend.

There is also a go fund me account for her sons educational expenses should you wish to make a donation in her honor.

Thank you so much for letting me share.
I know your thoughts and prayers will be heard and felt.

Happily we play along....

with the next crazy in paper crafting!

Hello friends, hope your having a great day.  Today I decided to work on my first Pocket Letter Pal swap.  I have the page itself complete, but need to finish up the letter for in it.  So I decided to make my own stationary for the letter.  Which just so happened to fit perfectly into the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge, for the love of plants. I think I might just have a stamp or 1000 that will work for this challenge!

I started with a piece of vellum.  Then stamped it with Memento Black ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Next I broke out the copics for my 10 minutes of color for the #thedailymarker30day2 challenge.  Yup, day 9 and still going strong!  I colored the flowers and leaves.  Then turned it over and.....surprise, a gorgeous stationary waiting to be written on.  Well not exactly......

next you want to add your score lines.  First I added columns so my stationary would fold perfectly to fit in my envelope with my pocket letter, then I added half inch score lines within the columns because my writing is just neater if I have lines.

And there you  have it.  Beautiful handmade stationary to send and actually write a letter to mail.
Imagine that!

Have a great day and see you soon!

What a great day!

I hope your having a great day today.  I have to tell you how good my house smells.  I am making strawberry spread while I'm blogging and the house smells amazing!  I am also so happy to have been able to do some type of coloring and or crafting for the past 7 days.  I'm playing along with the #thedailymarker30day 2 challenge to color something every day, for at least 10 minutes.  I'm so happy that I have completed a full week.

For today's coloring I finished this card for the Split Coast Stampers CAS challenge.  This week Paula challenged us to use sunshine as our inspiration.

I am also playing along with the TCP Tuesday challenge, anything goes.

Isn't this little bear so sweet, and I just love the sentiment.  I kept it super clean and simple and I love how it turned out.

I hope you take some time to color, craft or just be happy today:)

Have a great week!

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Good morning.  Summer is my favorite food season. I not only love to grow my own fruits and veggies but I love to eat them as well.  Really I love playing in the dirt, but actually reaping what you sow is pretty awesome!  Do you garden?

Today I am getting strawberries from one of my neighbors. Mine aren't quite ripe yet and I surely won't have the quantity they have.  Now to decide how to eat them.  I think I'll cook some down to make a fresh fruit spread for breakfast bagels.  Then eat some on on my salad greens, and of course dessert is a must.  What is your favorite strawberry recipe?

And let us not forget to just have some strawberries with our coffee or afternoon tea :)

Today I am hopping along with the Coffee Lover's Blog Hop.  This is my second year participating.  So fun! I hope you get a chance to create something for the hop or just hop along for loads of inspiration.

I used these cute little to go coffee cups to send a note to a girl friend.
I love when I make a card and have a reason to drop it in the mail.

And I thought I would offer up a little prize for a random comment either here or on Instagram.  Just answer one of the summer questions above in the comments.
Be sure to leave a way to contact you if you win.

My first prize is this stamp set from The Cat's Pajama's.

And for additional 25 comments I'll add another prize!
